Accessibility
Did you know 16% of the world's population experience a significant disability today? I'm committed to adhering to the W3C Accessibility Guidelines when designing products and my own portfolio.
What steps have I taken to ensure my portfolio is accessible?
- Text against backgrounds meet contrast ratios per Success Criterion 1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA)
- All interactive elements including buttons and links have visible keyboard focus states per Success Criterion 2.4.7: Focus Visible (Level AA)
- Interactive elements have descriptive names and roles programmatically set per Success Criterion 4.1.2: Name, Role, Value (Level A)
- For users who navigate with keyboards, pressing tab will reveal a bypass block to skip navigation links and go to main content, per Success Criterion 2.4.1: Bypass Blocks (Level A)
- Site is responsive and reflows as content is enlarged, ensuring no horizontal scrolling is required per Success Criterion 1.4.10: Reflow (Level AA)
- I do not rely on images of text to convey important information per Understanding SC 1.4.9: Images of Text (No Exception) (Level AAA)
